Varanasi - Four Legs

Hi!  Now that we've dispensed with the cows, let's move on to some other four legged folks, like these below.

...and the guy who seemingly owned the shirt just watched...

...and watched...

No coffee yet, it would seem.

Natural environment, so feels pretty good.

Especially when someone else is doing their part.

You got something to say?

Cute family?

Let's blow this joint.

What a long way to have to go for dinner.

Come again!

Varanasi...cows...Varanasi....cows....Varanasi....cows....goes together.

Varanasi...Cows....Of course!
If people can afford it they will have cows in the city.  The owners typically let them wander/hang around in the streets during the day, but there are 'police' for unknown cows (that have likely wandered too far from home) and holding pens for the wayward ones.  They eat everything it seems - unfortunately even if it means eating plastic garbage to get at something....not a good idea for the cows.

Try getting around this

A small problem here....

Blessed

This looks like it feels good

Varanasi Babas

This is a selection of pics of babas -usually older men who are often in their last stages of life, often travelling as sadhus (and in a place like Varanasi there are a fair number of fake ones) -  that I haven't published in a previous blog from this trip.

Varanasi - short walk to the Post Office

Yesterday I walked up to the Post Office to get some stamps.  These are just a few pics that I took on the way and back...in the order they were shot.  Note that there are no cow pics here, though, of course, there could be.  Saving those for later.

A small sewing shop

Yes...I know this is overly bright....but it fits the garishness of the little Shiva shrine

Owner of a shop even smaller than the sewing shop

Starting to get hot out....
